About Suzanne PennySuzanne Penny is already a cancer
survivor, but this is only the beginning of her story. Diagnosed with
breast cancer in November 2004 with a promising career under way, Penny
fought her way through denial, acceptance, challenge and finally
succeeded as a cancer survivor. From her personal
experience, she wanted to give back to others in a way which she could
relate to. During her treatment, she felt most cancer-care stores were
cold, sterile, distant and couldn’t relate to what she was feeling.
So, she set up a store that would offer an environment that was
physically, emotionally and spiritually supportive, in order to best
help cancer patients through their treatments and to help them move
forward with their lives, realizing all the while that they are still
beautiful women.
Suzanne opened A Pink Ribbon Boutique (www.apinkribbon.com)
which offered a warm and friendly environment catering to both healthy
and cancer-stricken women. Her store was a welcome haven to many women
who were, themselves, going through exactly what Suzanne had already
defeated.
In January of 2008, Suzanne was diagnosed
with an aggressive form of Leukemia. She has since had to close her
store while she undergoes treatment. This site was created by her
friends to be a central location to update everyone on her progress as
well as disseminate information about ways to help.
Suzanne is loved by everyone she meets.
She is truly a walking angel and we are so honored that she is our very
dear friend. Please browse this site to find ways in which you can help
Suzanne. You know she’d do it for you.
